ABOUT MOCAF

The Museum of Contemporary Art Flagstaff’s Story

MOCAF was founded in 2013 as a kinetic artist-run space, connecting under-represented artists with temporary locations that MOCAF would transform into pop-up art shows in Flagstaff.

From our first show, operated out of the home of one of our executive directors, to subsequent art openings in homes and businesses in Flagstaff, to our current brick and mortar location equipped with studio and exhibition spaces, we have taken every opportunity to pull from our expanding community and draw on new connections to make a local art experience that expands and enriches our shared cultural abundance. This means drawing from our community as well as providing a forum for thoughtful placemaking in Northern Arizona to ensure a more diverse, inclusive, and culturally equitable future.

MOCAF is a volunteer and board run organization. We house 4 resident artist within our building on Black Bird Roost in Flagstaff Arizona and rely primarily on the donations from artists and the public to host shows, events, and support creativity in town.

If you would like to make a contribution to MOCAF please send donations directly to your Venmo account at @MOCAF-Flagtaff.
